ESL

ESL (English as a Second Language)
The goal of our ESL program is to improve our students' level of English. ESL classes teach different language skills, depending on students' English abilities, interests, and needs. Our program teaches the following: conversational English, grammar, reading, listening comprehension, writing, and vocabulary.

General Information
--- All applicants must present a current RI Driver's License or RI Picture ID or Providence ID at the time of registration for the actual ESL classes.
--- Classes are offered to students 16 years old or older. Students younger than 18 years old are encouraged to contact the office for additional
documentation.
--- Attendance is mandatory for the ESL classes.
--- All eligible Rhode Island residents are welcome.

How do I get started in ESL classes?
1. You will fill out an application and pay an assessment fee of $50, money order or cash, no personal checks or credit cards.
2. You will be given a series of screening tests to determine your overall skill level in reading.
